SCAR CAMOUFLAGE PRE-CARE

SCAR CAMOUFLAGE PRE-CARE

Get excited! Below you’ll find a few instructions to familiarize yourself with before your appointment:

In order for your medical tattoos to heal properly and look their best, the pre-care instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE. Pre-care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the procedure. Excessive bleeding during the procedure can dilute the color and lead to poor results.

***MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you are under the care of a physician and taking prescribed medications:

  • Check with your doctor regarding interactions and any medications you may choose to use in preparation for or for use during your procedures (see details below).
  • Do NOT discontinue medication prescribed by you physician without consulting them first.

ALL PROCEDURES:

  • DO NOT have any caffeine the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid alcohol in the 48 hours prior to your procedure.
  • Avoid taking any medically unnecessary Ibuprofen, Naproxen, vitamin E, fish oil or aspirin in the days before you come, most importantly the 48 hours prior to your appointment.
  • I recommend you take vitamin K-1 supplements or increase intake of foods high in vitamin K for 5 days before your procedure. You can get these at many pharmacies, drug stores or on Amazon. Vitamin K-1 supplements help to prevent excessive bleeding, bruising and swelling resulting in better pigment retention.
  • If your treatment area is in close proximity to your lips and if you have EVER had a cold sore or fever blister, you MUST get a prescription anti-viral (such as Zovirax or Valtrex) from your doctor or dentist. This MUST be taken in ORAL form, not cream. You MUST pre-medicate with the oral inti-viral 1-2 days prior, the day of, and for 1-2 days after your procedure. You will want to inform your doctor or dentist that you will need enough medication to take daily for 3-5 days. You’ll also need the same amount for any touch up applications.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact me, Danielle Lloyd, via text, email or phone if you have any additional questions or concerns.
