AREOLA TATTOO PRE-CARE

AREOLA TATTOO PRE-CARE

In order for your medical tattoos to heal properly and look their best, the pre-care instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE. Pre-care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the procedure. Excessive bleeding during the procedure can dilute the color and lead to poor results.

***MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you are under the care of a physician and taking prescribed medications:

  • Check with your doctor regarding interactions and any medications you may choose to use in preparation for or for use during your procedures (see details below).
  • Do NOT discontinue medication prescribed by you physician without consulting them first.

ALL PROCEDURES:

  • Don’t have any caffeine the day of your appointment.
  • Alcohol should be avoided 48 hours prior to your procedure.
  • Avoid taking any medically unnecessary Ibuprofen, Naproxen, vitamin E, fish oil or aspirin in the 7 days before your procedure, most importantly, the 48 hours prior to your appointment.
  • I recommend you take vitamin K-1 supplements or increase your intake of foods high in vitamin K for the 5 days prior to your procedure. You can get these supplements at many pharmacies, drug stores or on Amazon. Vitamin K helps to prevent excess bleeding, bruising and swelling resulting in better pigment retention. **Again, be sure to check with you doctor to see if the blood thickening factors in vitamin K is safe for you to use and won’t counteract any prescribed blood thinners, etc.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact me, Danielle Lloyd, via text, email or phone if you have any additional questions or concerns.
